The New Music Ensemble and the TU Department of Music are pleased to welcome renowned composer Michael Hersch for a special guest lecture. Described as a composer of “uncompromising brilliance” (The Washington Post) and praised by The New York Times for music that is “viscerally gripping and emotionally transformative… claustrophobic and exhilarating at once, with moments of sublime beauty nestled inside thickets of dark virtuosity,” Hersch is widely regarded as one of the most distinctive voices of his generation.
