Exhibition | Linda Brenner: Understory
August 30 - October 12
Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Brenner’s sculptures express the inherent structure and order found in nature. The proportions and compositions are organized using geometry derived from mathematical formulae. Concern for craftsmanship and its relationship to process is evident in her figures, many of which are repurposed city trees that now take on a new life as artworks and remembrances of the places from which they fell. The sculptures remain, like a garden, works in progress—cumulative, rearrangeable and reworkable.
Reception September 5 following the 6:30 p.m. panel discussion.
Artist lecture September 26 at 6:30 p.m.
